Union State Bank Expands Metavante Relationship With Teller Capture Automation

6/29/2009

MILWAUKEE, June 29, 2009 – Metavante (NYSE:MV), a leading provider of banking and payments technology, today announced that Union State Bank has implemented technology from Metavante Corporation to streamline teller capture workflow. Established in 1928, Union State Bank is a full-service financial institution headquartered in Florence, Texas.

Union State Bank is deploying Metavante’s Direct Teller solution, a distributed capture product that allows bankers to image-capture and balance check deposits at the teller station. Requiring no software interface development, the Direct Teller solution fully integrates with Metavante’s Teller Insight, the bank’s existing branch teller system. Combined, the solutions enable traditional online transaction processing, check image capture and transaction balancing at the point of presentment, providing Union State Bank with complete item capture functionality at each branch location.

“To improve performance and increase the productivity of our branch personnel, we selected a cost-efficient teller capture solution that would enable the quick capture and verification of deposits, eliminating the increasing time and expenses associated with the printing, shipping and storing of counter paperwork,” said Colleen Beck, president, Union State Bank. “Our customers are much more than just a name and number—Direct Teller provides us the capacity to greet and really connect with our customers, building trusted relationships that allow us to understand and meet their individual needs.”

The bank’s deployment of the Direct Teller solution is an expansion of its extensive relationship with Metavante for a number of products and services, including: core processing, customer relationship management, ATM support, bill pay, business and consumer electronic banking, card processing, card personalization, electronic payments, consulting and telephone banking.

“Through our integrated solutions, Metavante continues to help our clients automate the payments process and reduce operational costs,” said Paul Danola, president, Metavante Image Solutions. “Metavante’s Direct Teller solution not only streamlines the check image-capture, transaction balancing and clearing process but also allows the bank to provide later deposit cut-off times, accelerate access to funds, provide immediate research capabilities and improve fraud detection. These are key components that are critical for Union State Bank to compete so effectively in its market.”

Metavante’s image solutions provide comprehensive solutions that help financial institutions and businesses of any size transition from paper to electronic payments and image processing. Solutions that can be delivered in-house or outsourced include distributed capture, check and remittance processing, fraud detection, as well as document and report management.

About Union State Bank
Union State Bank dates back to 1928, when three banks; Florence State Bank, Brigg's State Bank, and Farmer's State Bank merged in an effort to weather the Great Depression. This union created a small town bank that has not only survived, but thrived for the past 80 years. Originally, Union State Bank served the rural areas surrounding the town of Florence. However, the 1990's brought about unprecedented growth that resulted in the opening of four new branches; Killeen in 1990, Georgetown in 1993, Round Rock in 1997, Liberty Hill in 1997 and Harker Heights in 2006. Amid the rapid growth and development of Bell and Williamson Counties, Union State Bank evolved into a full service financial institution that serves both urban and rural communities.
